Customer Contact Company delivered work at a level their own brand never showed.
Context
Customer Contact Company has worked in customer service since 2008. A core team of around ten people, supported by a network of specialists, works with organisations including ABN AMRO, Vattenfall, Odido, Vitens, Rabobank and VodafoneZiggo.
Growth increasingly comes from smaller organisations with customer contact teams of roughly ten to a hundred people. They need the same expertise, but often at a different scale. Many sit outside CCC’s existing network, making the website an increasingly important first introduction.
The strategic tension
Just like other companies, CCC regularly competes with other firms for the same assignments. The quality of the work is rarely the issue. The challenge is making that quality clear before the first conversation takes place.
The same applied to recruitment. People who knew CCC understood the energy, expertise and culture of the team, while new candidates saw much less of that online. The gap was between the company people experienced and the company they saw from the outside.
The real challenge
Sailing has always been part of CCC. The team runs an annual event and uses training on a boat to make learning more practical and experiential. But on the old website, that story had become too dominant. Sailing imagery filled the screen and had its own place in the navigation, sometimes making it unclear what CCC actually did.
The rest of the website had a similar issue. “Passie voor klantcontact” with an image of a sailingboat, said little about who CCC helps or what it helps organisations improve. Expertise in digitalisation, AI, operational management and change was difficult to find, while the 360 Scan that starts many client relationships was hardly visible.
Stock photography created further distance from the people behind CCC. Strong proof was missing too, including an average client rating of 9.
Our approach
We started with the story before moving into design. Together with CCC, we sharpened the positioning, proposition and values behind the company. The goal was not to invent something new, but to make the existing strengths clearer.
From there, we defined the audiences, website structure, user flows, contact moments and tone of voice. Only then did we translate the strategy into a new visual system, including a photography concept and presentation templates that extended the identity beyond the website.
Strategic choices
We kept the parts of the brand that still had value. Sailing remained part of the story, but no longer defines the first impression. The logo was refined rather than replaced, supported by stronger typography, sharper colours and a more contemporary visual system.
The website now also reflects more closely how CCC works. Smaller and larger organisations have clearer routes, because their needs and the way CCC supports them are different. The 360 Scan became a more visible starting point, while having a coffee became the main call to action because it better fits the relationship-driven way CCC works.
Original photography now brings the people behind the company forward, instead of relying on generic stock imagery.
The result
Since launch, CCC has seen an increase in applications and has filled an open vacancy. New employees have also indicated that they recognise themselves more clearly in the brand and the way the organisation presents itself.
Commercially, relevant new-business enquiries have come through the website this year. CCC is also receiving more response without Google Ads than it previously did with paid campaigns. The numbers are still modest, but the website is now contributing in a way it did not before.
The positioning has also become useful internally. The story developed during the project is now being used in conversations with the market, and we are continuing that work with CCC in a follow-up growth track.
Reflection
Strong expertise does not automatically translate into a strong market position, especially when growth needs to come from people who do not already know the company.
For those audiences, the website needs to make the proposition clear, show the right proof and give people confidence to take the next step.
CCC did not need to become a different company. The task was to make the quality that was already there more visible.
