Bridging Innovation and Impact: Mars at Innovation for Health 2026

On March 26, we attended Innovation for Health 2026: a leading conference where innovators, researchers, investors, and entrepreneurs come together to accelerate progress in Life Sciences & Health. This year’s theme, ‘Bridging the Gap,’ focused on connecting groundbreaking innovation to real-world impact. Something that strongly resonates with how we work at Mars Media every day.

An ecosystem driven by collaboration

The event brought together a unique mix of people who are all shaping the future of healthcare. From cutting-edge scientific developments to new collaborations and partnerships, the day was filled with inspiring conversations and fresh perspectives. What stood out most, however, wasn’t just the impressive program, but the mindset in the room: open, curious, and driven to challenge the status quo. That energy is what truly brings this ecosystem to life.

Throughout the day, we connected with a wide range of professionals: from ambitious start-ups and scale-ups to established leaders and investors. They all working towards the same goal: improving patient outcomes through innovation. These interactions not only sparked new ideas but also reinforced the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful progress.

Celebrating innovation and talent

A special highlight of the event was celebrating this year’s outstanding innovators:

  • I4H Young Innovator Award 2026: Tim Sakkers (UMC Utrecht)
  • Start-up Pitch Contest 2026: Koen Vanderschuren (Wavefront Therapeutics)
  • Women’s Health Pitch Winner: Karlheinz Samenjo (Chloe Innovations)
  • Venture Challenge 2026: Syntric Medical

Their achievements are a powerful reminder of the talent and ambition within the Dutch Life Sciences & Health ecosystem.

The strategic power of storytelling

Alongside the event, we also attended a session on Business Storytelling 2.0, which offered valuable insights into how storytelling can be used as a strategic tool. It’s not just about telling a good story, it’s about shaping perception, building trust, and positioning yourself as the obvious choice, without the need for loud self-promotion. By carefully choosing what to say and what to leave out, leaders can communicate their expertise in a way that truly resonates and sticks.

At Mars Media, we see storytelling as a key driver of impact. Whether it’s supporting clients in communicating complex innovations or helping them stand out in a competitive landscape, storytelling is at the core of what we do. This session reinforced how important it is to use storytelling not just creatively, but intentionally to build credibility, connect with the right audiences, and ultimately drive results.

Looking ahead

Innovation for Health 2026 was an inspiring and energizing day. We left with new connections, fresh insights, and plenty of ideas to build on. We’re excited to continue bridging the gap between innovation and impact and look forward to what’s next.
